The Sorbet Feeling

Sorbet Skincare review

Today, I’m going to review two of the products from the Sorbet Skincare range. I usually go to Sorbet to get my gel nails done and I’m absolutely impressed by the application they do, but I’ll leave that for another diary entry.

Sorbet Hydro Skin 3-in-1 Foam Cleanser (210ml for R90):

The 3-in-1 Foam Cleanser claims to “effectively remove makeup, balance the skin with Hyaluronic Acid and Omega 3 & 6”. The Foam Cleanser comes in a 210ml foam pump bottle which I thought was convenient as I like that the formulation is already in a foam consistency. I have been using this product for over a month now and use the Foam Cleanser every morning and night. I spray about 2-3 pumps of foam onto my wet hands and lather on my face. It has a very luxurious smell to it and the formulation feels like an oil base or “liquid silk” on my face (I’m actually not sure what liquid silk feels like but I bet it feels like this).I am quite impressed by how soft and moisturising this Foam Cleanser leaves my face, as it has the added benefits of Vitamin A & E which helped during winter.

Sorbet Salon Skin Specialist Care Daily Skin Polish Powder (75g for R220):

The Daily Skin Polish Powder is quite an unusual product and I haven’t seen anything like this before so I just had to try it. The Polish Powder comes in a 75g bottle with a close cap that I found is not very convenient as I got the area around the close cap wet and some of the powder clumped and got stuck in the opening of the cap. (P.S; the bottle does say “close cap securely to avoid clumping”) Oops! My mistake. I have also been using the Powder for over a month now and use it 2-3 times a week as it’s a micro-exfoliator although you can use it daily. I place a small amount of the powder on my hands and add water to create a paste and apply it to my face and massage. It does foam up and leaves my skin feeling just a little bit tight, but I’m fine with that. It smells like lavender, which is one of the essential oils among grapefruit and pelargonium (which is a flower) in the powder. The powder has produced very good results for me, it has made my skin lighter and more radiant and minimised the appearance of my acne scars. It has Salicyclic Acid and Rice powder in the formulation which is a plus for my oily skin as the Salicyclic Acid will combat my blemish prone skin and rice powder will keep my skin matte. I am very happy with the results I have received from using this product and all its claims are true.

I’ve used both the Sorbet Hydro Skin 3-in-1 Foam Cleanser and the Sorbet Salon Skin Specialist Care Daily Skin Polish Powder for over a month now and haven’t had a breakout since. Yeah! Happy dance!

Have you tried any of the other Sorbet Skincare products? I would love to hear about them as I am looking to purchase a day cream in the range.

Schwarzkopf Gliss Deep-Repair Range

beautybulletin_trial

I’ve been using the Schwarzkopf Gliss Deep-Repair range for about 12 days now and I couldn’t wait any longer to share my experience with you. In the last 2 weeks or so, I have washed my hair 4 times. I am totally obsessed over how amazingly scented this whole range is.

My Hair Routine:
– Shampoo twice with Schwarzkopf Gliss Deep-Repair Shampoo
– Condition my ends with the Schwarzkopf Gliss Deep-Repair Conditioner
– Treat it with the Schwarzkopf Gliss Serum Deep-Repair Express Repair Conditioner or the Schwarzkopf Gliss Serum Deep-Repair Extreme Serum (My choice is dependent on how I’m feeling)
– Repair with Schwarzkopf Gliss Serum Deep-Repair Intensive Recovery Mask once a week

The Schwarzkopf Gliss Deep-Repair range claims to:
– Treat extremely strained hair & stressed hair in 1 week
– Reconstructs hair with Amino- Protein Serum
– Effectively goes through 10 hair layers
– Adds bounce & Suppleness to hair
– Increase Combability of hair
– Renews the quality of your hair
– Repairs hair damage inside and outside the hair strands

The Verdict *Cue Drumroll*:
With my hair being so frizzy and having a natural curl to it, I tend to stay away from hair care products that don’t actually say “frizz” on the bottle and if I saw this range in the store I probably would have not given it the time of day or better yet purchased it. This makes me glad to be a part of a beauty community like Beauty Bulletin, where you get to discover new beauty products that you wouldn’t necessarily go to the store to pick yourself.

I just washed my hair now and it’s drying naturally. The amount of frizz on my hair has drastically decreased and my hair feels incredibly soft. The only concern or drawback I have is that my hair seems to be getting oily to quickly, but I have a feeling it could be due to me using a bit too much conditioner. I will have to monitor this.

I like how my natural curls are more defined, which means I don’t have to put it through curling “heat torture”. The Schwarzkopf Gliss Deep-Repair range has really surprised me by its performance and the biggest difference I noticed is that my hair doesn’t feel dry anymore, the ends use to have a straw-like texture to it and that is completely gone. My hair feels supple and I can definitely feel that it’s getting healthy…which is not how I would of ever described my hair.
So, I guess there are only 2 questions left to ask…

  • 1.) Would you recommend this product to someone else? YES, I would to my beauty loving BB’s and many more!
  • 2.)Would you repurchase this product? Surprisingly, YES!

Pictures and individual product reviews to follow. I’m extremely happy by how good my hair looks and feels!
